What is TraceDonate?

TraceDonate is a donation platform powered by blockchain technology that offers end-to-end transparency.

A TraceDonate account provides you with a unique ID. With an AID:Tech ID, you can manage your balance (goods and services donated to you), make payments and build up your unique personal history. You are directly connected to individual or institutional donors via TraceDonate, managed by international NGOs, charities and humanitarian organisations.

How does it work

Donations are digitally delivered to your TraceDonate account. Leveraging blockchain technology, the donation process tokenizes items (cash, utilities, groceries, medical products etc). Organizations determine what goods and services are made available. So that you the beneficiary, can receive donation of these items directly.

 
 

How do I register

Currently you are required to register for separate accounts with different organisations.

Register online

Register with a valid email address, mobile number and password.

When you register, an email is sent to you with a verification link. Click on the link, or cut and paste it into your browser, which will complete the registration process.

At your first login, you’ll also be asked to select a 4-digit pin for making payments.

By registering for a TraceDonate account, you’ll be asked to accept the Terms & Conditions.

Within ‘My Settings’, you have the option of enabling SMS or Google Authenticator multi-factor authentication.

Register in person

Details surrounding this process is provided by your organization, please contact them for more information.

To register in person, you are required to provide contact information. You may also be asked to bring with you documentation, the request may include:

  1. Proof of identity

  2. Proof of residence

After registering with the organization, a confirmation email will be sent to you. Follow the instructions to complete account setup, when you can immediately begin to use your ID.

 
 

Why do I need to register and sign in

You need a TraceDonate account in order to access your unique AID:Tech ID. A unique ID is required in order to receive digital delivery of donations, receive notifications and access to your personalized history.

 
 

How do I start paying for goods and services

You can purchase goods and services online or in-store.

Online

You can make purchases via merchants connected with you on TraceDonate. Select ‘Make Payment’ and select ‘Merchant’ before proceeding with purchase.

In-store

When making a purchase in-store, you’ll be asked to provide your AID:Tech ID at checkout. By scanning the ID, merchants will be able to proceed with the purchase; by recording the purchase to your ID and to verify your purchase using your 4-digit pin.

I did not receive my verification email/SMS.

For email verification, make sure you are connected to the internet. Please check that that communication is not restricted by VPN or firewall. You can also do a search for emails from noreply@aid.technology. Lastly, please make sure you are checking the same email account as the one used for registration.

For SMS verification, please make sure you are connected to your data/wireless service. Please check that that communication is not restricted by VPN or firewall. Lastly, please check that you have entered the correct country code and phone number at registration.

 
 

How do I update my information on my TraceDonate account?

You can update your information, including mobile number by visiting ‘My Settings’ after signing into your account.
